Welcome to Rayleigh Horticultural Society
We are one of the biggest societies in the area, with over 1000 household members, celebrating over 65 years. We have an active Committee who work to provide activities of interest to all types of gardeners. For the showman, the allotment holder, the plant enthusiast and those who just like to potter around.

The Spring, Summer and Autumn Shows, always give a magnificent show of flowers and vegetables in all sections, one of the biggest societies shows in the area. There is also the Domestic and Handicraft sections, with a revised listing of classes where all arts and crafts can be entered, the entries get more and more each year as everyone realises they have something they have made that they can enter.

The Childrens sections cover all ages up to 13 years of age, so everyone can get involved.
The open class "CHILDREN'S POTATO CHALLENGE" is so successful, we are having it again for the Summer Show 2008. Also this year is the open class "MAKE A CROWN FOR A KING OR QUEEN" for the Spring Show 2008, and the open class"THE LARGEST SUNFLOWER HEAD" for the Autumn Show 2008. So if you are under 13 years old you can come along to The Store in January and collect your free potato, bucket and growing instructions to grow the heaviest bucket of potatoes, and also some free sunflower seeds to grow the Largest Sunflower Head.

Club nights are once a month, with a wide range of topics with something to interest everyone.

We are justifiably proud of our Trading Store, which is our mainstay, which alot of societies no longer have. So if you are not a member, and would like to purchase your garden requisites at competitive prices, come along to our store, Rayleigh Horticultural Society, Lower Wyburns Farm, Daws Heath Road, Rayleigh, Essex and see what we have to offer, and have a chat with one of our volunteers.
